1780 Swedish Metal Mora Clock

The Mora clock gets its name from a village in Dalarna province, where these timepieces were assembled throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. Farm families in the village would each craft a specialized component of the clock mechanism, which was subsequently housed in a multitude of clock cases. Ours reprises the classic lines and statuesque proportions of a Mora clock from 1780, but trades the traditional painted wooden case for one of softly weathered metal.
