Inspired by weather-worn shutters protecting doors and windows in the tropics, this mixed-media artwork subtly evokes another time and place. Rectangular wood slats are wrapped in jute twine, forming the canvas on which acrylic paint is lightly applied. Contrasting horizontal and vertical lines create a rhythmic, allover pattern.
