A marriage of unexpected materials creates a sculptural dimension in Lamina. The wooden base is topped with granular sand gel and layered with strips of raw, distressed canvas, the irregular, geometric shapes evoking Cubist compositions. The final layer of paint is stripped back in places to allow glimpses of the natural fabric, yielding rich texture and subtle gradations of color.
